Lyrics

Bittersweet

This is it:
The end of a road.
From this point on
We'll carry a different load.

And the journey ahead is longer than the one behind
For some.
I want to stay but I know inside it's time
To run.

And it's bitter 'cause I know I'll never be here again,
In this place that I've become familiar with,
But it's sweet because I'm moving closer to my dreams
And I am learning what serving God really means.
I don't want to, but I have to leave
And it's bittersweet.

This is where
I leave my comfort zone.
To move on
I'll have to walk awhile alone.

Though I do not want to go quite yet, it's plain
To see
That moving on is the only way I can
Be free.

And it's bitter 'cause I know I'll never be here again,
In this place that I've become familiar with,
But it's sweet because I'm moving closer to my dreams
And I am learning what serving God really means.
I don't want to, but I have to leave
And it's bittersweet.

We may not meet again, so I will tell you through my tears
That I will pray for God to see you through the years
And I am not going to tell you goodbye
'Cause I will see you when we reach the other side.

And it's bitter 'cause I know I'll never be here again,
In this place that I've become familiar with,
But it's sweet because I'm moving closer to my dreams
And I am learning what serving God really means.
I don't want to, but I have to leave
And it's bittersweet.

And it's bitter 'cause I know I'll never be here again,
In this place that I've become familiar with,
But it's sweet because I'm moving closer to my dreams
And I am learning what serving God really means.
I don't want to, but I have to leave
And it's bittersweet.
It's bittersweet.
Bittersweet.
