Lyrics

Simplicity

I like songs in four part harmony,
All the different forms of poetry,
Art with layers of complexity,
It all fascinates me.

I love looking at embroidery,
Staring at a quilt that someone made for me,
Reading ev'ry word of a detailed story,
It takes time to achieve that intricacy.

But there is something better in simplicity,
A voice that says, "This is the core of me,
Who I am and what I believe in."
There is something special in this intimacy,
In a life that tries to live confessionally,
Someone who comes out and admits.
There is a beauty that outshines ev'rything,
And that is simplicity.

I love all the lyrics of the songs
That I understand before I learn and sing along.
I love pictures of ev'ryday things,
The new light they bring.

I love people whose heart and soul
Work so hard for a single goal,
Like the One who came, taught, lived, and died,
To give me life, beautiful life.

There is something precious in simplicity,
A voice that says, "This is the core of me,
Who I am and what I believe in."
There is something special in this intimacy,
In a life that tries to live confessionally,
Someone who comes out and admits.
There is a beauty that outshines ev'rything,
And that is simplicity.

In ev'rything that I
Find a reason to enjoy,
There is something.
Sometimes it's buried deep,
A meaning I have to seek,
But other times it's already speaking.

Oh . . .

There is something better in simplicity,
A voice that says, "This is the core of me,
Who I am and what I believe in."
There is something special in this intimacy,
In a life that tries to live confessionally,
Someone who comes out and admits.
There is a beauty that outshines ev'rything.

There is something precious in simplicity,
A voice that says, "This is the core of me,
Who I am and what I believe in."
There is something special in this intimacy,
In a life that tries to live confessionally,
Someone who comes out and admits.
There is a beauty that outshines ev'rything,
And that is simplicity.

Simplicity.

Simply me.
